Then, we formed assembly lines
and tried assembling pens by Mass production.

Mass Production Rules:
Each team will consist of five workers and one leader.
The five workers will sit in the work area and assemble the pen
components according to the step assigned to them. This process is repeated as
many times as possible during a 2-minute period.
The leader will inspect the assembled pens, and deliver them to the
customer if they are OK.

Mass Production Rules, continued:
The leader will also refill the material containers for the various
workers.
The customer will make sure the pens are OK, log them on the production
sheet, and then disassemble the pens.

Advantages, Mass Production
Workers require less training.
Workers become skilled in one task.
Work is done quickly.
Products are more uniform.
Machines can do more of the work.

Disadvantages, Mass
Production
One worker can slow down production.
Little work variety.
Workers don't see final product.
Individuals not responsible for final quality.
